The Karachi Port handled 98,098 tonnes of cargo comprising 70,401 tonnes of import cargo and 27,697 tonnes of export cargo including 3,862 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 70,401 tonnes comprised of 22,428 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,362 tonnes of general cargo; 28,750 tonnes of coal and 8,861 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 27,697 tonnes comprised of 27,697 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,862 containers comprising of 1,516 containers import and 2,346 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The breakup of imported containers shows 400 of 20's and 478 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 80 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 697 of 20's and 358 of 40's loaded containers while 213 of 20's and 360 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were eight ships namely APL Coral, Hanjin White, X-Press Euphrates, Kota Kaya, Front Dee, CNS Sanya, CNS Liuzhou and CNS Qinghaihu carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. APL Pearl, Hansa Neuburg, Shalamar and Formosa Falcon carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

There were three ships namely APL Pearl, Hansa Neuburg and Mu Dan song carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday. There was one vessel viz. Sea Wave carrying cement due to arrive on Tuesday while eleven vessels viz. Ever Unique, Wieland, Batam Trader, Hyundai Jakarta, Bahamas, Wan Hai-503, Golden Convenant, MT Lahore, As Orelia, Dream Orchid and JS Comet carrying containers, oil tankers chemical, vehicle and brites lumps respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 25,941 tonnes comprising 15,441 tonnes of import cargo and 10,500 tonnes of export cargo inclusive nil loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 15,441 tonnes includes 12,932 tonnes of furnace oil and 2,509 tonnes of LPG.

The total export cargo of 10,500 tonnes includes 8,800 tonnes of cement and 1,700 tonnes of rice and 000 tonnes of containerised cargo. There was one ship namely MT Med Star carrying furnace oil sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two ships namely MV Haje Zenab and MT Gas Sellan carrying cement and LPG mix are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of five vessels viz. MV Haje Zenab, Moleson, Callm Sea, MT Gas Sellan and MT Med Star currently occupied berths to load/offload cement rice, soyabean seed, LPG mix and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as eight ships carrying containers, general cargo, gasoil, LPG mix and furnace oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday. There were five vessels carrying cement, rice, soyabean seed, LPG mix and furnace oil took berths at Multi Purpose Terminal, FAP Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There were six ships namely CV Al Manama, CV March, MT Gennaro Levoll, MT White Pearl, MV BBC Amethyst and MV Hong Leopard carrying containers, edible oil, LPG mix and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
